Winnaar Marmotte 2012 Sander Armée van Topsport

Sander Armée wins Marmotte 2012!

by Robert

Besides the refrain, the day for which many riders had trained so hard was full of joy and achievement, a day we all 've been waiting for. View the results below.
The weather was great, just perfect!

The top 3 of the Marmotte 2012 edition:

Sander Army (BEL) 5:33 hours
Bart van Damme (BEL) 5:37 hours
Michel Snel (NL) 5:40 hours

Besides a number of contestants who ride to win, the Marmotte mainly is a cyclo in which the cyclists want to make their ultimate effort.

Chapeau for, among others Charles Damwho completed the course at 71 age within 11 pm and 20 minutes . Also remarkable Raymond Elisabeth (previously Marmot in the spotlight on MarmotteCyclo) occupied the 65th place within 6:17 hours! Unfortunately we can not mention everyone by name…
Besides the many participants lots of supporters came to cheer, particularly on the Alpe d'Huez. For many riders they provided just the needed extra push in order to overcome the final mountain!

On the site of Sportcommunication you can view your performance during the course.

Dank them Ray. Yes, that camera was a story in itself. Hart Arm mooi ding, but halfway up the Glandon was the battery. I probably did something wrong so the battery was heavily taxed…..Next year I hope to have more images.
There are indeed still some images on the site, from the start and at the Alpe.
